As a guest, it is easy to make smart environmental choices when you dine at a Sodexo café. We know today's college students want to do the right thing for the planet and we also understand you lead busy lives, so your Sodexo chefs and managers do a lot of the work for you behind the scenes!

From purchasing local seasonal produce whenever possible to reducing inorganic and organic waste, your campus team is dedicated to providing you with an exceptional dining experience that is good for you and good for the planet.

All these initiatives are part of Better Tomorrow 2025, our Corporate Responsibility Roadmap.

Sustainable Fish and Seafood

To address depletion of oceans and forced labor issues in the seafood supply chain, we build Sodexo’s Sustainable Seafood Guide to guide our day-to-day purchases of fresh and frozen fish and seafood. In partnership with WWF, we have classified 90+ species into 3 categories: no-buy, buy only for some origin and fishing method, and green list. In Singapore, already 66% of our fish purchases are sustainable. We increasingly buy labelled fish & seafood, like MSC Certified Sustainable Seafood.

Local and Seasonal

Seasonal and local products have a reduced carbon footprint –and taste better. We increasingly source local and seasonal products. For instance, our eggs come from Singapore farms, and our fruits and vegetables from the region.

Cage-free Eggs

For animal welfare and health reasons, we have committed to source 100% cage-free eggs by 2025, in partnership with the Humane Society International.

Cooking Oil

We ensure the collection and conversion of used cooking oil to biofuel in Singapore!

Biodegradable Packaging

Nearly all our takeaway packaging is now biodegradable. We're trying to do our bit to help the planet.

BYOM - Bring Your Own Mug

South-East Asia accounts for 60% of plastic dumped in the oceans. Bring your favorite mug to enjoy your drink and avoid plastic waste, while benefiting from a discount!

WasteWatch x LeanPath program on Food Waste

30% of food is wasted globally. That's a lot of food.

Through WasteWatch powered by LeanPath program, we measure, track and report daily food waste, and take reduction actions that make a difference. We capture both kitchen and consumer plate waste, using a weighing scale and a tablet.

We're doing our best and we need your help along the way. Every month, we will share updates on the amount of waste collected on campus. We hope for your support in the pledge to reduce waste every month by being more mindful about consumption and disposal.

No Plastic Bottles On Campus Policy

INSEAD and Sodexo are both extremely mindful about the amount of plastic waste accumulated per year and its toxic effects. As a result of this, we have committed to not having plastic bottles on campus. All your your favorite beverages and snacks can be found in alternative, more environmentally friendly packaging.
